Are you trying to decide what to wear for your engagement session?
If you’re like me, it can be hard to decide on what to wear. I’m super picky when it comes to choosing outfits for myself. Before I became a photographer and started educating myself, I had no CLUE what looked good on camera or anything. So I’m here to tell you what I recommend, so that you’re not in the same boat for this special occasion….
Choosing Colors…
First off, I always recommend choosing a solid color for your engagement session. Solid colors are your best friend, you cannot go wrong with them. They always look amazing on camera, while patterns can be distracting… and sometimes just don’t look good on camera. However you can find patterns that do look great, it can just be a little tricky…
Second, choosing colors… I recommend going with a neutral or light color. White, Light Blue, Light Pink or even a black are all beautiful colors to go with.
How many outfits should you have?
If you’re planning outfits for an engagement session, I suggest going with two different outfit choices. Here are a few reasons why…
This helps create variety in your session as well as gives you a few more portraits to fill your new home with when y’all move in. It’s also great if you can’t decide on just one outfit. You can go with both, so that you don’t have to make that hard decision.
Choosing Outfits…
When choosing outfits, I recommend choosing something formal for your first outfit. For the second outfit, I recommend going with something a little more casual. Doing a formal and casual look for your session will give you the best of both worlds. It gives you portrait options for those save the dates. As well as gives you those photos you’ve been wanting that look like they’ve came out of magazine that you will forever love.
